Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve Wilderness Tour from Cancun

More than 300 bird species inhabit Sian Ka'an

Spend the day exploring the Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve, a protected eco-wonderland located in Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula. Navigate the reserve's wetlands, visit Mayan ruins and snorkel in a beautiful, cavernous cenote.

A bilingual biologist/naturalist guide will accompany you on this tour. You will learn important environmental facts about Sian Ka'an, which at 1.3 million acres is the largest protected area in the Mexican Caribbean territory. Sian Ka'an is the home to more than 100 mammal species and more than 300 bird species, as well as 23 ancient archaeological sites.

Cross the reserve's unspoiled wetlands by boat and witness how the ecosystems change and discover the many bird species and vegatations on site. You will visit Xlapak, a Mayan temple, and Muyil, one of the oldest ancient Maya sites on the Yucatan Peninsula's eastern coast. Your day will conclude with snorkeling or a refreshing swim in a cavernous, underground cenote.

There is a maximum of 10 people allowed per group or tour.

Summary:

48 HOURS MINIMUM ADVANCE BOOKING REQUIRED. Tour includes hotel pick up. Children ages 4 and under are free. Please reserve online or call 800-250-1563 for reservations or more information. There is a $3.95 processing fee per order. This is a flat fee regardless of the number of tickets or tours purchased on an order.
There is a service charge per ticket. This charge will be reflected on your summary before you checkout. The total shown includes any and all taxes, fuel surcharges, and service fees. There are no additional charges.

Cancellation Policy: There are no refunds. All sales are final.

Change Fee Policy: If changes are allowed on a tour or activity, a $20.00 per reservation change fee will be applied for any change to a reservation. Please note that some tours and activities do not allow any changes. Date changes can be made only if we can confirm availability on the new date. While we cannot guarantee any changes can be made, all change requests must be submitted a minimum of 24 hours prior to the tour departure and must be handled on an individual basis through our Reservations Center.

Tour Itinerary
~ Hotel pick-up begins at 7:00 am at Cancun hotels; 8:00 am at Playa del Carmen hotels; and 9:00 am at Tulum hotels.
~ Arrive at Sian Ka'an at approximately 9:30 am.
~ Take a boat across the Campechen Lagoon wetlands to learn about native birds and vegetation
~ Visit the Muyil Archaeological Zone to see Mayan ruin sites around noon.
~ Enjoy lunch at Don Cafeto Restaurant at 2:00 pm.
~ Spend 1.5 hours snorkeling and swimming in a cavernous cenote.
~ Return to your hotel by 6:30 pm.

~ You MUST be able to swim.
